What is “Taste of the World”?

This is a unique social media campaign. It is a “Virtual Travel Experience”. It brings together food, family and friends during a time when COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives. Our donors will hear from families around the world, see photos and videos of their community and culture AND learn how to make their favourite family recipe! Our hope is to bring people together. It is our own idea and the beauty of this campaign is that families from New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, France, Zurich, Colombia, Panama, USA, England, and obviously Canada have taken the time to help us build this campaign for the women and girls in the Peterborough area.

Soroptimist International of Peterborough has been part of this community since 1945, as volunteers we work to provide women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. We are women at our best, helping other women to be their best. We have several programs/projects, supported by fundraising efforts such as our brand new “Taste of the World” COVID-era fundraiser, all directed to fulfill our mission despite the pandemic. Our fundraising efforts will be directed mainly to support our signature program: Live your Dream Education and Training Awards
