The Foundation is a charitable organization established in 1963 by the Soroptimist Clubs of Canada.  Each Club assigns a delegate to attend the Foundation Annual General Meeting, usually in the fall. Guided by a volunteer Board of Soroptimists, the Foundation’s purpose is to solicit donations, manage assets, and annually disburse funds to support education for women and girls. Presently its focus is four-fold: Grants for Women pursuing graduate studies, Club Grants to deliver education and training programs for women and girls, Live Your Dream awards to women in communities where there isn’t a Soroptimist Club, and finally, a grant to Willing Hearts International Society Canada, a registered charity that delivers a leadership camp in Kenya for approximately 200 girls.
